Extensions and extensive alterations were carried out on a previously run down public house, to form a new flagship brand for Hydes Brewery. The Horse & Farrier is the second Hydes Heritage Inn and is a local landmark at the heart of Gatley village.
The interior of the establishment was completely re-configured by the addition of steelwork which allowed walls to be removed, opening up the internal spaces. Old fireplaces were re-opened and restored to working order and new fireplaces were also added. The bar area was extended and wooden floors, floor tiles and carpeted areas were installed. Snug areas were also incorporated. The old, outdated toilets were demolished and completely new toilet facilities were built and fitted out.
Externally, new entrances and porches were created and the exterior was completely re-painted. The car park was re-surfaced and a patio area was formed in the freshly landscaped garden area. This hostelry now offers a comfortable, spacious and stylish interior, with sumptuous lunchtime & evening menus and has become a very popular haunt for people from all around.
The contract was completed in 8 weeks, on time and within budget. This project has been followed by additional successful Hydes Heritage Inns at Altrincham and Cheadle Hulme.
