M&B Awarded Customer First Creditation

1st March 2010

Leading the way in the Industry, McGoff and Byrne have become the first building firm in the UK to achieve the prestigious Customer First accreditation.

The certificate marks an impressive two years of turnaround for McGoff and Byrne who have invested heavily in industry accreditation and building business partnerships in the public and private sectors.

As an organisation McGoff and Byrne have always striven for best practice, and realise that when working with the public, communication and engagement is the key to success.

In deciding to undergo the Customer First assessment the construction company wanted to build on the service offering already available to their customers, by identifying customers they could add value to. Completing the assessment process was also seen as an opportunity to develop a robust strategy to convert opportunities into contracts.

The assessment process itself ensured that McGoff & Byrne Ltd were embedding a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management strategy in the organisation, applying structured customer management techniques to the way they work.

Working towards their Customer First assessment also highlighted to McGoff & Byrne Ltd the importance of customer engagement and encouraged them to raise the profile of this within the company and share information on relevant customers with stakeholders. As a result a consistent approach to managing important relationships throughout the business was galvanised.

Dave McGoff, Group Commercial Director said;

“The Customer First Standard challenges you to review and improve procedures and relationships that are often inadvertently neglected or taken for granted”

Completion of the Customer First Standard has supported McGoff and Byrne’s transition from reputable local builder to rounded service provider, and as the first construction company to achieve the Customer First Standard they are truly leading the way in delivering the highest standard of service to their customers.

Frea O’Brien, Chief Executive of Customer First said:

“We were extremely proud to see McGoff and Byrne achieve the Customer First Standard. Following the recession many organisations are now having to reconsider the way they work and go back to basics in thinking about what their customers really want. McGoff and Byrne are a shining example of how an organisation can go from strength to strength when looking to always put their customers first”
