New look for Hoylake cottage
29th August 2008
Renowned for its high quality care for older people, Hoylake Cottage has unveiled its new look, which now boasts some of the best health facilities for up to 60 residents in the Wirral and immediate surrounding areas.
Award-winning North West construction company, McGoff & Byrne, was briefed by Hoylake Cottage to replace the original Victorian building for a purpose built nursing care facility.
The £3.25 million project was completed within the 65 week timeframe with little disruption and with exceptional results.
Moving away from the traditional dormitory wards to hotel-style accommodation, Hoylake Cottage now offers residents the ultimate in comfort and privacy.
The design of the accommodation ensures each resident benefits from their own spacious room with en suite facilities. Each floor boasts its own sitting room, kitchenette and dining room, ensuring a friendly and homely environment is created to reinforce the company’s high level of nursing care.
The building features both quiet and communal areas, soft carpeting, bright and airy living accommodation and comfortable outdoor space.
Large attractive feature windows form a focal point at the front of the building using glazing to separate and define internal spaces creating a modern, fresh, bright and clean feel.
The building offers ample car parking and additional attractive landscaping of the outdoor space providing both residents and visitors with pleasant spaces to relax in tranquillity.
Lin Cooke, chief executive of Hoylake Cottage, comments: “We are all very pleased with our new home. The residents now have high quality accommodation and facilities which will help to promote independence and choice.”
James McGoff, managing director at McGoff & Byrne, says: “We are particularly proud of Hoylake Cottage and the excellent results achieved. It is always a pleasure to work on a project that provides the local community with additional benefits, in this case superior health facilities for the older community of the Wirral.
“Hoylake Cottage is without doubt one of the best purpose built nursing and care facilities in the North West,” added James.
